Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 19, 2024

The company FIND ME PORTAL LLC ("Company"), which owns and operates the find me+ app on the Apple Store and on the Google Play Store (collectively referred to as "App"). By downloading, installing, or using any version of the App, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, do not download, install, or use the App.

Welcome to the privacy policy of find me+ app. This policy explains how we collect, use, and give you control over your data. Looking for a quick summary of our privacy practices? If you're looking for product-specific privacy information, check the privacy page by product. Additionally, along with these documents, transparency is one of our core values at find me+ app.

We believe there should be no surprises about the data we collect and how we use it. That’s why we outline in advance how we process this data. For example, we process your information to provide you with a more personalized experience, such as showing you content and information most relevant to your experience. Our understanding of your interests and preferences helps us provide a better product experience.

Furthermore, we believe that any personalized experience should not come at the expense of your privacy. Just like in real life, there are moments you want to share privately with those close to you, and there are moments you want to share publicly with those nearby. That’s why our philosophy, from day one, has been about reaching another user within your range and giving find me+ app users control over this content by providing tools that allow them to decide what appears in their content. And all actions related to account management, including deletion or modification of your data, can be performed directly through the app. Please navigate to the app's settings for more information.

This policy covers our find me+ app as well as other products, services, and features. When you see the word “services” in this policy, we're referring to all these services. Additionally, if we mention "terms," we mean the Terms of Use you agree to when registering as a new user of our services. Lastly, if you come across the phrase "Finder user," we often use it as a shorthand for any user of our services.

Additional Terms for Specific Services
Additional terms and conditions may be outlined on our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By using our services, you agree that these additional terms may apply and will become part of this agreement. For instance, if you purchase or utilize any paid features available within Find me+ (such as a Find me+ Premiumsubscription or emojis), you acknowledge that our Paid Features Terms apply. In the event of any conflict between these additional terms and the main Terms of Use, the additional terms will take precedence and apply instead of the conflicting sections while you are using the services to which those additional terms pertain.

Let’s start with the controls you have over your information:

Control Your Information
Controlling your information and settings is a core part of the Find me+ experience.
We want you to be in control of your data, so we provide a set of tools in the app, including:

  • Access and update your information. You can access and modify your basic account details directly within our services. Just go to your settings, and you’ll see the options available to you.

  • Delete your information. If you wish, you can delete your account or remove specific information within our services, such as saved content.

  • Control who sees your content. We have built tools that let you decide who to share your content with. Sometimes you may want to share content with a specific user, and at other times, with everyone.

  • Control who can contact you. If you receive unwanted contact, you can always block that person and report them.

  • Change your permissions. In most cases, you can change your permissions anytime, including disabling Bluetooth or restricting location access.

  • Object to processing. Depending on where you live and the specific data we process, you may be able to object to our processing of your information. This part is a bit technical.

Information We Collect

This section provides details on the information we collect. We’ve divided that information into a few categories: information you provide us, information we create based on your use of our services, and information we obtain from others. Sometimes, we may collect additional information after receiving your permission. If you wish to delete or modify the data you have shared with us, please follow the instructions in the 'Find me+' app under the settings menu. When you use our services, like Find me+, we collect the information you provide, generate information based on your use of our services, and in some cases, get data from others. Let’s explore this in more detail.

Information collected through Bluetooth and location

The Find me+ app uses Bluetooth to discover other users within a certain range. When Bluetooth is enabled, we collect information related to the user's approximate location. However, this data will only specify a precise location if the user provides consent. For example, if you're walking around a certain area, the app can suggest nearby users based on Bluetooth signals received.

Information You Provide

Many of our services require you to create an account. To do so, we ask you to provide account details (information about you such as your name, username, email address, date of birth, phone number, and gender). Additionally, you can add optional details such as a profile picture, bio, or any other information you'd like to share with other users.

When setting up your profile, you'll also provide us with profile details. Of course, you'll provide the information you send or store through our services. Keep in mind that some information shared through our services could be public content accessible by everyone. Remember, Find me+ users who view your content can always take a screenshot, save it, or copy it outside the app. So, please avoid sharing content you don’t want others to save or share.

Information We Create When You Use Our Services
As you use our services, we gather details on how you interact with them. This helps us better understand how our community uses our services, allowing us to make improvements. This includes usage information, content-related data (such as photo-based content), device information (like device type or software), sensor data (such as from Bluetooth or device motion sensors), location data (like IP address), and log details (like how you use our services).

Data we obtain from others

The last category of data we collect includes information about you that we may obtain from others, such as other users.

Other information, after obtaining your permission

Additionally, you may sometimes interact with services where we will request your permission to collect other information. For example, before accessing the camera roll.

How We Use Information To Keep Services Running
We use the information we collect to operate, deliver, and maintain our services. Some of your information is used to help us update our products and tailor the experience to your needs, like displaying nearby users based on Bluetooth signals.

Your data helps us identify what improvements to make, though we focus on privacy by ensuring we don’t overuse personal information.

Analytics
To understand what features to build or how to improve our services, we need to study trends and user demands.

Research Studies
We conduct research studies to understand general consumer interests, trends, and how you and others in our community use our services. In addition to analytics (as mentioned above), this information helps us learn more about our community and how suitable our services are for the lives of individuals in our community.

Enforcing Our Terms and Policies
We use the data we collect to enforce the terms and the law. This includes enforcing the terms on conduct that violates our terms or policies, investigating and reporting such conduct, responding to law enforcement requests, and complying with legal requirements. For example, when illegal content is posted on our services, we may need to enforce our terms and other policies. In some cases, we may use or share your information to cooperate with law enforcement requests or escalate safety issues to law enforcement, industry partners, or others to comply with our legal obligations.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
In this section, we provide details on how long we retain your information and why, highlighting instances where we are required to retain your information by law, courts, or other obligations.
As a general rule, we retain information for as long as you ask us to, as long as we need it to provide our services, or as required by law. For example, when storing something, we will keep it as long as you need it. The retention of your data depends on each feature, your settings, and how you use the services. • If we need the information to operate or deliver our services. For example, we store your basic account details—like your name, phone number, and email address—to maintain your account.

• To perform the actions you expect from our services and as described in this privacy policy.

• The information itself. For example, we store location information for different periods based on its accuracy and the services you use.

• Bluetooth data is retained for a short period to enhance service performance and ensure accurate discoveries. It is retained for a short time to improve service performance and ensure detection accuracy.

• If we need it for other legitimate purposes, such as preventing harm, investigating potential violations of our Terms of Use or other policies, investigating abuse reports, or protecting ourselves or others.

• You can check the privacy page for specific products and the support page to see details on the retention periods for different products. Our systems are designed to automatically delete some of your information, but we cannot guarantee that the deletion will occur by a specified time. In some cases, we are required to comply with legal requirements to retain your data, which prevents us from deleting your information. For example, if we receive a court notice requesting us to retain a copy of your content. We may also be required to retain a copy of your data for other reasons, such as reports of abuse or other violations of the terms or policies, or when your account or content created by you or with others on Find me+ is flagged by others or our systems as abusive or in violation of the terms or policies in other ways. Finally, we may retain certain information in backups for a limited period or as required by law.

And to request the deletion of your data, please use the 'Delete Account' option in the app. Account deletion will also remove all associated data.
